When can Liverpool secure the 2024-25 Premier League title?
Liverpool’s advance to the Premier League title seems inevitable – after they raise their lead to 13 points.
At this stage of the season, no team with a top English history can be traced back to 1888-89 and did not win the championship.
“It’s no longer like a championship game, it’s a parade, isn’t it?” Gary Lineker, the host of the game that day.
The Reds lost only once in the league throughout the season – and Defeat Newcastle 2-0 Wednesday.
Arsenal have dropped points in the last two games – including theirs Attractive with Nottingham Forest.
Forest legend Martin O’Neill said while watching the TNT Sport game: “I think tonight is the end result.
“I can’t see Arsenal catching up with Liverpool, not at all.”
Liverpool boss Arne Slot said: “Ten matches are still a long way to go. In March, we only played one Premier League game – so we don’t focus on the long term.
“Now, players have a few days off and then we focus on Paris Saint-Germain (Champions League opponent) rather than the Premier League tabletop.”
Gunners owner Mikel Arteta must know that the fixture has risen, but said before the Forest game that he will acknowledge the title “(his) body.”
After the game, he told the BBC: “It was a week ago, two weeks ago, three months ago. The only thing we could do was win the game and see how many points we got.”
Meanwhile, former Liverpool winger Steve McManaman said Liverpool is “unstoppable” and “in cruising control.”
“Everyone else is helping them,” he added.
Forests ranked third, six points behind Arsenal, and Manchester City (won the last four titles) was another key point.
In the Premier League, only one team won 13 points and did not win the championship – Arsenal defeated the Manchester United championship in 1997-98 – but this was earlier this season.
