Captain America: Brave New World Has a Surprising Cameo: A Microsoft Surface Duo
I saw Marvel Captain America: A Brave New World And go all out on Harrison Ford’s Red Hulk – including monster’s chest hair. I’ll save my thoughts, i.e. what the movie (or maybe how boring) later. But there was a moment that made me laugh and then made me think. Don’t worry, this won’t ruin anything.
Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, once pulled out his phone and showed another character some information (see, No Destruction). Captain America chooses a phone number? Microsoft Surface Duo.
At first, I thought it was a strange choice. Aside from Super Serum, Sam seems to have all the superhero skills he wants (this part makes him as good as Captain America). He has Wakanda matching wings, cool Google Google, Redwing and…Surface Duo phones. Four of them are perfectly reasonable for Captain America.
There isn’t a single little movement blur: it’s Sam holding his Microsoft Surface Duo.
As a CNET phone reviewer, the guest appearance of Surface Duo is an unexpected joy. I laughed when I saw it, and from the silence of the theater, I would say no one else likes Easter eggs on the phone. But is this clever product placement or is it a prop to give McGee a cool phone worthy of the Avengers? Or are there other things on the two of them?
The Surface Duo isn’t the first niche phone to get screen time. this A phone number for red hydrogen Finally on the dashboard of Dominic Toretto in F9, Leonard DiCaprio used it Don’t look up on the same phonealthough neither Leo nor Vin Diesel utilizes the phone’s 3D lug screen. So, a groundless phone in a movie or TV show isn’t entirely unexpected to me.
But Sam’s phone is not hydrogen, Microsoft Surface Duo That was in 2020 and it was not selling well. Second Edition, Surface Duo 2released in 2021, did not sell well, and then became the last version. It’s hard to say which model Sam has – I’ve been looking for the Duo 2’s Glance Bar, but the phone doesn’t have a great shot. (Sam will use it completely at first glance.)
The two 5.6-inch screens of the surface duo are connected by a pair of stainless steel hinges (one on the top and one on the bottom). It is indeed one of the most eye-catching phones ever. All of this leads to a question: Why did Captain America have a superficial duo?
This is the part I can’t stop thinking. There is a fictional galaxy that Sam bought the phone in 2020 and because he is a meticulous technician in caring for his gear, he just stays perfect for five years (or seven years, remember Captain America : The Brave New World is scheduled for 2027). Although he certainly has to change the battery at some point.
Then in another case, Sam reads how amazing the Surface Duo’s hardware is (albeit with some major software issues) and is only used for Microsoft’s excellent portfolio design. Just like the way he wandered around with the Exo-7 Falcon Jetpack, I could imagine Sam hacking and uploading my own software to run on the duo and use it.

Or is it just SAM using duo as a burner phone? If so, then it would be a lot of flexibility when it comes to burner phones in TV and movies.
I go back to an example of Red Hydrogen, because this may indeed tell us why the duo are in the Captain America movie. Years ago, I interviewed Adam McKay, the director, Big Dwarf and host of Do not Book. He explained to me that the deactivated hydrogen stopped because a prop guy recommended it. McKay wants a unique phone that doesn’t look like a standard phone on the screen.
McKay explained: “And then he (Props Man) came back with that phone. He went, ‘It’s the full phone made by the red cam. They never released it. Check out.’ “And I started playing with it. I was like, ‘Why don’t they release it? This is incredible. ‘But obviously, technically, it’s not consumer-friendly. ”
So why does Captain America have a superficial duo? We may never know. All of this can be said that the movie could have been better.
