World Open: Shaun Murphy claims 10th career 147 break in 5-0 win over Zhou Jinhao
Shaun Murphy was “bombed out” after his biggest rest in the world on Monday, but joked that it was “the most unlikely 147 of all time”.
Murphy fired 700 of his career in a three-century break in a second round against China’s Zhou Jinhao.
The final game was a 5-0 victory in China Yushan, which was his tenth official and second of the season.
“I’m very happy, but I must say it’s an early meeting to start early,” Murphy told the European Arena.
“There weren’t a lot of fans this morning, so this is probably the most impressive 147 of all time, but they’re all special. I can’t believe it – I was blown away.”

Monday’s 147 puts the 2005 world champion ahead of Stuart Bingham on the all-time roster, behind Ronnie O’Sullivan (15), John John Higgins (13) and Stephen Hendry (11).

In the draw’s other half, world champion Kyren Wilson scored a break of 138, 111 and 90, defeating Lei Peifan 5-1, while 18-year-old Stan Moo Stan Moody defeated former world champion Graeme Dott 5-2.
Duane Jones beat Xiao Guodong 4-0, 5-4, defeating Xiao Guodong at the 54-1 of the Decider to 56 permission defeated and won.
The Welshman next faced Zak Surety, while Wilson replaced Zhou Yuelong, and Moody played against Xu Si.
