FlexiSpot has plenty of offices on the market, ergonomics and gaming chairs, and makes one with the weirdly named BS12B-Pro, let’s see what makes it stand out from the rest of the crowd.
After using an 11-year-old IKEA Markus office chair, now using it for more than two weeks, here’s my thoughts on Flexispot, and how it compares The best office chair We’ve reviewed it here Techradar Pro.
The chair arrives with a large regular cardboard box that was beaten by a courier, outside notifying you what it is, model and color, and with a blue “Flexispot” brand and motto, at least some colors.
Flexispot BS12B-Pro: Assembly
When you open the box, everything seems to be thrown in the box at will, or the courier brings it some rolling roll. As you find on your monitor, there isn’t much fixing anything, just in case it’s in a bubble. It seems Flexispot knows that this is the case, as each component of the chair has its own plastic or cardboard wrapper or foam, where it might be pointed.
Deleting everything and laying it flat allows you to see how everything is together; I noticed that the seats and backrests are made of grids like fabrics that enhance breathability wherever they are needed most.
The wheels are plastic caster hubs, and they are free to rotate, whether it is the wheel or the spindle. They look solid enough, but I do want to know how long they live and how fair they are on my laminate flooring.
Checking the parts almost carried out the total weight of the chair and seat (i.e. spider-like legs) and I saw that they were made of plastic. The chair from the IKEA Max Chair, which offers a steel base for £100, both providing better strength, material quality and feel, while also pushing the chair down so it’s hard to overturn.
Putting it together is quite quick and easy. FlexiSpot offers some Allen keys and a small wrench that can get the job done if you absolutely don’t have any tools, but with the proper tools, I put the chair in about 15 to 20 minutes to assemble. One good thing I noticed is that the screws used to assemble the chairs have been applied with blue thread glue to prevent the screws from exiting, which is a nice touch.
I found that the part that is a bit put together is still, which is a little difficult because the space of your fingers is very narrow
Flexispot BS12B-Pro: Use
The main seat of the chair is almost 50 x 50 cm square (51 cm wide x 49 cm back to the front), the cushion is contoured with curves and edges, with front curves to be within the comfort of the thighs. The minimum height of the seat is 46 cm and the maximum is 54 cm. Depending on the thigh support you want or need to have, you can move forward and backward for 4 cm. Finally, the seats can be tilted from a flat 90 degrees to a back 135 degrees without a forward tilt, as some do prefer to sit slightly forward.
Adjustments are all done by using three buttons or mini levers on the right side of the chair. Made of high-end feels from metal, they are a great touch without having to reach under the chair and adjust under the lever. Also, I feel they can be used blindly and don’t need me to look at them. Nevertheless, these symbols are self-evident from left to right, back and forth seats, tilt locks and seat heights up and down. Under tension adjustment, what is hidden below is, but this is rarely adjusted.
The seat itself is covered with mesh fabric to allow breathability and prevent back sweating, it stretches tightly on the seat frame to make it “bounce”, but this does mean the edges of the seat are on the sides and rear, front There does have a small foam insert to be done under thigh support. Long-term use will check whether this fabric can be used daily.
I wish for more lumbar support; the fabric of the chair is so tight that it is completely tilted, and I don’t even touch the lumbar support most of the time. It is also limited to 3 different heights and 0 front and rear options.
The handrail appears to be a standard-shaped plastic structure with a fixed foam top that can be adjusted using the lever under the rod arm Rest from 16 cm high (from the top of the seat to the top of the arm) to 23.5 cm high. They can be rotated from straight lines and about 9 cm backwards, forward and backwards, rotated, backwards and backwards, and moved them not locked in place, so hitting a chair may move the arms.
The headrest is when I compared the chair to the IKEA Max chair, I was a little disappointed with this chair. The Markus Headrest height was comfortable for me (6’1 inches), so my head was on the cushioned part on the top of the chair. The BS12B-PRO does not have this, instead it feels like the head resting at the maximum height setting, stuffing into my neck or shoulders, or giving me the actual head no support. Any lower setting is now stuffed into my shoulder blade bone. I think this chair would be great if you are 5’8″ or 5’10”.
Flexispot BS12B-Pro: Final Judgment
Finally, the headrest is so low that it forces me to sit in the louch position (i.e. not ergonomic), or if I sit in the right position, my head has nowhere to rest. Currently, the bolts sitting in the chair sit upright on the chair to support my lower back and upper back, but the head rests under my lower neck. There are no other tilt or rotation adjustments that can be made on the headrest.
As for the price, at the time of writing this review, the Flexispot BS12B-Pro shows up for £399.99, but seems to be sold permanently for £249.99, which leads me to believe that this is the actual cost of the chair, £249.99 is the actual cost. Also, I also pointed out that there is no elastic brand anywhere on the chair except for the box and manual.
