Chelsea: Enzo Maresca not concerned by Cole Palmer form or body language
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca said he was not worried about Cole Palmer’s form or body language.
The Italian manager scored two wins in 10 of all matches, two of Chelsea wins, and presented the England International drop in a table.
The 22-year-old striker has not scored in all of his last six games and has not registered assists in his last 13 games.
But in 2024, he scored 26 goals and 13 assists in the last calendar year – Chelsea’s record is more than any other player in the Premier League.
Asked about the struggle before Palmer visited Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Tuesday, Maresca said: “No, I don’t care about him.
“I’ve been worried about acting in general, not Cole because Cole is a man and always in a season where he can have some moments of effort.
“We expect goals or assists in every game, but it’s hard. At this moment, his team performance reflects the team he’s working hard to score. When we get the chance, we need to be more clinical.
“Cole was just frustrated that we didn’t win the game. It was nothing more than that.”
Maresca lists Palmer’s missed opportunities for Manchester City and Aston Villa as he denied that he was a star player, it seems to be right His own teammates were angry but seemed to admit that Chelsea was responsible for him as the champion of the game.
Maresca said: “The problem with Cole is that we rely on Cole to put it into practice.
“I’ve said that since the beginning, we’ve needed to rely on the team to do everything. Of course, there are top players like Cole, but we don’t worry about Cole at all.”
Maresca said goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen will start Tuesday despite a win goal at Villa Park on Sunday, and Defender Trevoh Chalobah was eliminated in “one week to ten days”.
