One of Logan Paul’s Most-Prized Pokemon Cards Could Be Up for Sale

Logan Paul was a large Pokemon collector when he was not a YouTuber, Wrestler or an entrepreneur. And he’s probably ready to make one of his most popular cards.

Paul bought the card in 2021 for about $5.3 million, called “Pikachu Illustrator” which the Guinness organization calls the most expensive private sale ever. In the latest video on YouTube, Paul has over 23 million followers, who he says are considering selling.

He said: “I’m considering letting go of it, and potentially exchanging for the right people. (The full video is located at the bottom of this article.)

Paul wears a Pokemon card around his neck, making his WrestleMania debut and often flashes in videos. He swapped it, swapped another illustrator card (its low-status score), and recorded the deal in a 2022 video.

“Collection is part of conquest, part of investment, part of fanaticism,” Jeremy Padawer, toy executive, Investopedia. “I know Logan is driven by all three things.”

Paul’s card is considered a “Holy Grail” project

The card is considered one of the rarest Pokemon collections.

After the illustrator, Japanese magazine participated in a competition in which 39 winners received cards drawn by Atsuko Nishida, designer of the famous cute Pokemon character Pikachu. (Two other illustrator cards were released in 2017.) Paul is believed to be the best condition in any known Illustrator card, improving its value.

The million-dollar sale of Paul’s illustrator will be the latest big deal involving favorite cards. The 1952 Mickey Mantle Baseball Card sold for over $12 million and is considered the most expensive sports souvenir ever. A “Magic: Party” card sold for $3 million in April;Recent eBay searches show that several Pokemon cards list over $1 million.

Paul did not say why or how to sell the card or the price he expected, no response Investopedia’s Request a comment. On Instagram, he called the amount he paid for the illustrator “ridiculous cardboard money”.

Despite this, Padawer considers Paul’s card a “Holy Grail item”, it is not uncommon for precious collectors to change hands. “Maybe something like this doesn’t mean it’s only one person to enjoy it throughout his entire life,” he said.
