NBA results: Doncic stars as LA Lakers end Denver Nuggets’ winning run
Luka Doncic scored 32 points as the Los Angeles Lakers ended the Denver Nuggets’ nine wins on Saturday with a 123-100 victory at Colorado.
Doncic has been second only to the Lakers since moving to Dallas from Dallas on February 2, as he excelled as they won a statement victory from their Western Conference rivals.
Doncic finished the game with 32 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists, while LeBron James was one of four players to score 20 points with 25 points.
“I started to feel more like myself – that’s why I smile throughout the game.” Doncic told ESPN.
“There is still a lot of room for improvement, and this is just my fourth game. Chemistry takes time. But today you’re seeing things getting better.”
Meanwhile, Nic Claxton’s offensive rebound on the buzzer ensured the Brooklyn 76ers crossed the Philadelphia Nets.
Tyrese Maxey tied with a three-pointer before missing a match with two seconds left by Brooklyn’s Keon Johnson.
However, Clarkston grabbed the rebound and scored as the horn rang.
The Portland Trail Blazers have won their biggest win in NBA history as they beat the Charlotte Hornets 141-88.
Anfernee Simons scored 25 points, while Toumani Camara scored 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists, and Shaedon Sharpe scored 20 points from the bench.
Utah Jazz eventually beat the Houston Rockets 124-115, while the Phoenix Suns beat the Chicago Bulls 121-117.
