Police said the search for the missing woman has entered its fourth day.
Jenny Hall, 23, left her home on Tuesday at Barracks Farm in County Durham Trailer Law after 15:00 GMT. Her red Ford focus was found parked on the B6278 between Egerston and Stanhope on Wednesday.
Ms. Hall is a keen long-distance runner, described as 6 feet (18,000), dark hair is long, last worn in blue with the John Deere logo and dark jogging bottom hoodie.
Durham police said they would work in Hamsterley Forest, where Ms. Hall runs, surrounding areas.
The Hamster Forest was created by England in the 1920s.
Partly used for wood production, but the area is also popular with walkers and cyclists.
It covers 4,942 acres (2,000 hectares) and is the largest woodland in County Durham, about 16 miles (26 km) from the town of Hall Town MS.
According to UK Forestry, it attracts about 200,000 tourists each year.
Ch Insp Haythornthwaite said he wanted to thank those who have contacted them so far.
“We really appreciate your help and support,” he said.
He said the troops knew that today’s families would stroll through today’s forests and asked them to provide space for officials conducting the search.
“Try not to destroy the search area,” he said.

To date, its team has searched 60 miles (96.5 km) of paths and tracks at Hamsterley Forest, together with police, Teesdale and Weardale Search and Mountain Rescue Team (TWSMRT).
“The biggest challenge is the area scale itself and the terrain,” said volunteer Peter Bell. “The terrain is muddy and rugged.”
A TWSMRT spokesperson previously thanked the public for their help, but advised individuals not to try to assist as it could “hinder systematic searches.”

So far, motorcycle officials, dedicated sniffing dogs and air-support drones have also participated in the search.
Durham police are urging anyone with any information ringing 999.
