Eric Ramsay: The ex-Chelsea and Man Utd coach who chose MLS over Championship
Eric Ramsay is convinced that his decision to take on the head coaching role in Major League Baseball football, rather than a champion, will benefit his overall development.

“I understand enough that I am by no means a finishing article as a head coach,” Ramsey told the BBC Sport.
“I want an experience that will give me the best chance, a chance to make some mistakes and manage some of the feeling that is big.
“It feels like there’s a review on MLS. There’s media to deal with it. The pressure you have to deal with, albeit at the same level as England.
“Champions should have been like a test, if not more, but with the ongoing suspicion, objectively looking, the life cycle is much shorter for those entering the league. It was a relatively wise decision. ”
Ramsay is the youngest coach in the MLS.
He is following the trend of club trusting young bosses, including Fabian Hurzeler, 31, of Brighton and Will Will, 32, who are still The Ligue 1 side lens is responsible.
Ramsay followed the coaching path after earning a degree in sports science and management from Loughborough University.
Prior to joining Chelsea in 2019, he worked for Swansea and Shrewsbury before moving to Manchester United, initially as a player development coach under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2021.
“I’ve reached a logical point of view to seeking such an opportunity,” Ramsey said.
“I spent two and a half years at Chelsea.”
