iPhone 16E Announced: Release Date, Price, Features and Specs

Otherwise, the iPhone 16e has a strange value proposition. On paper, you can upgrade to iPhone SE in almost every aspect. But this lacks the main appeal of the iPhone SE: low-cost and small-sized designs. That’s not to say the iPhone 16e isn’t worth the starting price of $600, and it’ll undoubtedly be lower with carrier deals and discounts. But, like the old iPhone SE, you have to wonder how long will this phone be related to it?

iPhone 16e release date

iPhone 16e design
The iPhone 16e has an action button that can trigger a shortcut or initiate a visual smart search.

Instead of the mute switch, there is an action button to activate the shortcut. The new iPhone also lacks support for MagSafe charging and accessories. It’s a bit annoying to have no MagSafe because it means you can’t use magnetic accessories and you can only charge your phone wirelessly at a slow 7.5 watt speed. (However, it can charge at 20 watts.)
iPhone 16e camera
There is a 48-megapixel camera at the rear.

But the name change also represents a symbolic change from Apple that owns cheap phones to Apple that have an affordable iPhone 16, just like how Samsung owns the Galaxy Fe model.
With the name changed to iPhone 16e, I’d love to know how Apple handles the upgrade. Contrary to the years between the release of iPhone SE, is this the phone Apple updates every year?
