Marvel Rivals Season 1.5 Is Live: The Thing and Human Torch Join the Battle
Marvel competitorsthe new hero shooter based on Marvel comics characters is about half the time of his first full season. The free match launched Season 0 on December 6 and quickly reached 20 million players before starting its first full season in early January.
The mid-season update brings two new heroes, a new map and (thanks to Odin) does reset in the initially announced rankings.

New Marvel Competitor Heroes and Maps
Season 1 brings Fantastic Four – Invisible woman, Ms. Magic, Human torch and Things – Give Miracle competitors. Given its premise that two doctors from different schedules are taking control, this is a suitable addition to the game. The start of the new season has brought us the Invisible Woman in the Strategy role, and Mr. Fantasy is a duel. The mid-season patch puts this thing as the Pioneers and Johnny Storm as another duel. A new map, Central Park, was also added in the middle of the season, allowing players to bring battles to Dracula’s Castle. We also get a brand new arcade game mode, Doom Match, which takes place in Strange Doctor’s Sanctum Sanctorum.
The developers say this is twice as much as they plan for the future season, so hopefully there will be a new hero at the start of the future season, with one or two new maps each season in about six weeks. That would mean eight new heroes and four to eight new maps each year. This is an impressive content for live service games.
There have been many other Marvel competitors leaking recently, including the abilities of hero models or characters such as Ultron, Emma Frost and Jean Gray. All of this has not been confirmed and will not appear in Season 1, but they do recommend healthy content graphs for the game, which are crucial to keep players engaged throughout the year.
Battle Pass
Season 1 Pass features 10 new outfits, centering around the eternal night theme of this season. The Battle Pass costs 990 lattices (approximately $10 worth of game currency). If you complete the Battle Pass, you can earn 600 grids and 600 units (around 12 dollars worth of game currency).
Equilibrium change
The developers said they hope to reduce the frequency of strong support for the Ultimate members while accelerating the frequency of some duels and pioneers, thus destroying (but not completely collapse) the third-level strategist work. Storm received NERF to lower her strength levels, and Dr. Strange and Dr. Magneto were also NERF’s targets as he continued to be the most successful Vanguard Heroes. The developers also responded to feedback that the balance changes too slowly, noting that they intend to make major changes to patches that kick off the new and mid-seasons, but said they will change a tactical balance after each season to resolve any Direct outliers.

No mid-term ranking reset
Although initially it was shown that players would see smaller rankings at the start of the season, the Season 1.5 patch didn’t change the player’s rankings. The initial announcement was not popular with players, who thought it would be reset every six to seven weeks, which added to the ranking climbing level. Looking ahead, the ranking will be reset to six divisions at the start of the new season (about every 13 weeks).
