Hannibal Mejbri: Burnley midfielder ‘in good place’ after alleged racism incident

Burnley’s Hannibal Mejbri accused against Preston forward Milutin Osmajic, Claires boss Scott Parker says ) committed racist abuse and is now in “a good place”.

“He’s in a good place now, he’s been well trained over the past few days, and the process is now active and happening. We’re going to see what’s going on there.”

The Football Association is investigating the incident, and the Professional Football Association (PFA) has also contacted Burnley to provide support.

Parker added: “(We) stayed in touch with Hannibal and made sure he was in the right frame on the psychological element.”

“I’ve never experienced what happened on the weekend and the accusation was the first for me. For a young man like Hannibal, I realized he was good and that might be shocked by him.

“It is crucial to his pastoral care.”
