Manu Bhaker: Shooter named BBC Indian Sportswoman of the Year
Her shooter Avani Lekhara BBC Iswoty Para-Sportswoman Award of the Year was presented.
The 23-year-old is the first Indian woman to win three Paralympics, and won gold in Paris after 2020 Tokyo’s gold and bronze medals.
Indian President Droupadi Murmu said: “I thank the entire BBC team for their praise initiative for organizing the BBC Indian athletes.
“The extraordinary athletes recognized through this initiative not only excel in the sport, but also inspire young women to pursue their dreams fearlessly.”
