Scotland stay unbeaten at Euro curling with wins against Switzerland and Austria
Defending men’s champions Scotland top the European Curling Championship standings and are the only unbeaten team in the competition after two more wins on Monday.
First, they defeated Switzerland 7-6 in overtime, then defeated Austria 10-2, having already defeated the Netherlands, Norway and England.
Mouat has already missed out on Scotland’s chance to win three consecutive European titles and the title in 2018.
They take on Italy on Tuesday (12:00 GMT), with the match live on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app.
“Today was a good day with two very good wins,” Mouat said.
“Against Austria we were lucky to get two steals early but this result made for a really good day.”
In the women’s competition, Rebecca Morrison’s Scotland Rink got back on track with a 9-3 victory over Hungary.
Earlier on Monday, they led Türkiye 4-2 in their final game but ended up conceding three points.
“We know we have four games left to win, so we’re going to try to do that,” Sophie Jackson said.
The win takes Scotland to two of their five wins against Estonia and Lithuania on Tuesday (17:00) – the latter live on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app.
