Eritrea: Exhibition marking 50 years anniversary of Asmara Massacre

A photo exhibition commemorating the 50th anniversary of the massacre committed by the Ethiopian colonial regime in Asmara and its surrounding areas officially opened today. The exhibition was opened by Mr. Fesehaye Haile, Governor of the Central Region.
The exhibition is in front of the Asmara Municipal Government, with 50 photos, partial list of victim names and documentary documentaries highlighting the tragic event.
Mr Ghidey Gebremicael, one of the coordinators of the exhibition, said the materials on display were from the archives of Eritrea police.
To pay tribute to the victims of the Holocaust, the region’s governor, Mr. Fesehaye Haile, head of affairs of the PFDJ, Mr. Yosuf Saiq, and Mr. Zerit Tewoldebrhan, managing director of the region.
The exhibition will remain open to the public until Sunday, February 16.
