Rangers: Philippe Clement says no change to backing over cup exit
“There is no manager in the world that can guarantee – maybe it’s Guardiola of Manchester City, who deserves after everything he’s done for a long time there.
“That was part of football, but we talked about the game and it didn’t reflect the game.”
Clement admitted that he was hurt by the abuse he suffered when he left Ibrox on Sunday, which went into social media.
“Of course it hurts,” he added. “The thing I like about this job is to do things with people.
“We have had some amazing synergy with our fans. On Ibrox, amazing moments.
“It’s obviously a bad moment, of course, I watched the video, too. I didn’t know people were making videos.”
Clement quoted Stuart Kettlewell, who resigned from Motherwell’s manager last month as fan abuse affected his family.
“I understand people’s frustration,” Clement said. “It’s hard for me to say where the line is because it’s personal. Two weeks ago, for a manager, the line had crossed and he stopped Go down.
“It’s obvious to me that I’m here, I want to fight for this club and continue to grow this team, not to have that result any more.
“That doesn’t mean there is no harm at this moment.”
Asked about the disappointment of fans that he is still the manager, he added: “It’s about getting results. I’ve had a lot of great time with these fans and I know they don’t feel like this season and going out to the cup. satisfy.
“I will do my best to make things better around the team and around the team.
“But there is still a lot of work to do. I’m here to do my best to prepare the team for a game against the heart. That’s my point.”
