Champions League: Celtic could face Uefa action over Israel banner
The Celtics may face another European olive oil on banners displayed by fans during the Champions League playoffs against Bayern Munich.
The banners related to Israel were announced by supporters at halftime and remained in place for most of the second half.
The European Football Governing Body Control, Ethics and Discipline Committee will evaluate the in-game report and decide its next steps.
UEFA will decide whether the banner contains political, provocative or offensive information.
Hundreds of Celtic fans held red boards in the seats below the banner, showing “Israel Red Cards.”
The Celtics avoided banning supporters who played in Munich next Tuesday, although Ufa had previously received a disciplinary notice from Ufa after throwing a smoke bomb on Aston Villa’s stadium in January.
