Man Utd: Ineos considering further redundancies at the club
Ineos completed a deal worth approximately US$1.6 billion (£1.25 billion) at Manchester United in February 2024.
After Ratcliffe’s investment was confirmed, Ineos took over Old Trafford’s football business and quickly appointed Director of Sports Omar Berrada as the new CEO and Jason Wilcox as technical director.
Ineos chose to put Erik Ten as manager in June, but then fired him for £10.4 million.
Manchester United replaced Manchester United in November and paid coach Ruben Amorim for £11 million. The Portuguese won 10 wins and lost 8 of his 20 games.
The club also paid Newcastle £3 million in compensation for Ashworth, but announced he left in December after five months of work.
Ineos and Ratcliffe have also been criticized for raising match-day tickets to £66 per game, with no discounts for children or pensioners.
The club struggled on the court, ranking 13th in the Premier League, 27 points behind the leader and 14 points behind the top four.
However, they entered the fifth round of the FA Cup and the last 16 Europa League games.
Ineos spent more than £200 million on the players in their two transfer windows and oversaw midfielder Scott McTominay to Napoli and Napoli and Marcus Rashford on loan to Aston Villa.
The big currency signing Jadon Sancho and Antony were also loaned.
