Jasprit Bumrah: India fast bowler out of ICC Champions Trophy with back injury
Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was excluded from the championship trophy due to a lower back injury.
Bumrah, 31, suffered a spasm in her fifth and final test last month in Australia and was not suitable for the game.
Harshit Rana has been named as Bumrah’s replacement in India’s 15-man lineup.
The 23-year-old made his first international debut against England on February 6, and played four wickets against Jos Buttler in two ODIs.
India has also added leg stimulation to their team Varun Chakaravarthy to open up batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Chakaravarthy, 33, made his debut in Cuttack’s second-largest one-day debut on February 9.
India will be captained by Rohit Sharma and include many of its mature players in the team, including Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant and Mohammed Shami.
The championship trophy will begin on February 19 and will be held in Pakistan, although the group match in India is a semi-final and may be a final It will be held in Dubai.
