Both electric vehicles share the same Rivian commercial vehicle powertrain, with a single electric motor that drives the front wheels to 320 horsepower and 299 lb-ft of torque. The prescribed total vehicle weight rating is 9,500 pounds, but the slightly lighter delivery of 500 only has a more payload (2,663 pounds, over 2,258 pounds) and a slight range advantage – 161 miles – compared to the 700’s 160.
