From the moment it intercepted Patrick Mahomes’ first pass, Buffalo looked to be in a better position, falling just one game behind its archrival in the race for the top seed in the AFC playoffs.
Mahomes kept the Chiefs ahead with three touchdown passes, but just as they threatened another getaway, Bills quarterback Josh Allen took the game into his own hands with a 26 yard touchdown run to end the game.
That brings the Buffalo Chiefs to four straight regular-season wins after losing three playoff games between the teams in the past four years.
It was a more controlled and complete performance from the Bills than usual, with Allen not having to do everything himself, and their six-game winning streak has brought them to nine wins and two losses.
It was also a rare convincing defeat for Kansas City — their first by a margin of victory since October 2021 — as they finished the weekend 9-1.
Buffalo held Mahomes to a season-low 259 yards of offense and scored 30 points against a Chiefs defense that had not given up a goal in 30 games.
