Six Nations: Centre Nick Tompkins says sorry to travelling Wales fans
Next is the defending champion of Ireland, followed by Scotland at Murrayfield, against Cardiff in England on March 15.
If Wales wins any match, it will be a big surprise, and Warren Gatland’s tenure as head coach is more volatile than ever.
Since returning to his second term, Gatland has overseen only six wins in 26 Tests.
“You can’t hide from the consequences of what happened,” Tompkins said.
“We are working hard when we say the preparation is going well. I promise you won’t undo it.
“We have to keep moving forward and keep working and hopefully something will come.
“I was frustrated, but it wasn’t as easy as saying it was one thing or another. It was everyone together.
“As a player, all I can do is keep working hard and being better. That’s what we can do. It’s not as easy as saying it needs to change or it.”
