Nike Zegama 2 review: A brilliant long-distance trail shoe

The Nike Zegama 2 is a high mileage shoe designed to handle almost anything you can throw. Nike has invested nearly two years of testing to the model, which is designed to provide the highest comfort and support for uneven, changing terrain.
It comes with the Pegasus Trail 5, which is a more dedicated trail shoe than a trailer product.
While the first Zegama was cool, it fell off due to its limited grip. The Zegama 2 offers more traction, plenty of cushioning and a truly responsive journey. I was really impressed a few weeks later. I’m not a trade trail runner and find that most trail shoes look a bit like walking shoes. Zegama 2 took me on the trail and looked great along the way.
Out of the box, the Zegama Trail 2 has a very compelling design. Its large heel stacks on shelves give the shoe a strong profile, reflecting its strong durability and excellent support.
This is the khaki/super crimson/burgundy crush/white option, a special design inspired by the China East China Sea Memorial Trail. Honestly, I love design. The lighter jade color is also a real head steering, as is the special two Bay Trail blue version. Essentially, there is no dull or disappointing color scheme found.
Not that you keep these clean, Zegama Trail 2 is one of them The best running shoes For outdoor activities. Nike essentially uses an extremely responsive and cushioned Zoomx foam midsole. During experiments with tarmac, concrete, grass and soil trails, I found the Zegama 2 to be very comfortable.
You won’t buy a Zegama 2 for a road run, but we all need to get into the trail before the fun begins. These trainers will take you to your trail in your style and will not pay for your footsteps along the way. The Zoomx Mider feels responsive and stretchy, coupled with the obvious rocker movement, which really helps you keep moving forward.
Once you reach the rough stuff, bumps, jumps, ridges and roots, the Zegama 2 easily brushes them off as you drive along uneven terrain. I’ve never been a cross country person, but the Zegama 2 instills a real sense of confidence that almost challenges you to find more dangerous and unfavorable terrain. There is no doubt that these shoes can easily become durable hiking shoes, thanks to their extremely forgiving underfoot experience.
Stability is another big advantage and is crucial to the off-road shoe experience. There are uneven terrain everywhere, and the last thing you want is to move and rotate. The fit of the entire upper is very comfortable. I found enough rooms in the toe box, although I saw several complaints about the limitations of vertical space in this year’s model. The comfortable upper is combined with the footer at the ankle, making for a very safe fit that also limits large outdoor activities to the shoes.
There has never been any feeling of rolling ankles or losing balance on all kinds of unbalanced grounds I’ve tried.
The original Zegamas wasted a long time due to poor traction. For Zegama 2, Nike added Vibram Megagrip and the effect was obvious. I live in Scotland and I do all the runs in the wet conditions and I can’t believe how much the Zegama 2 is delivering on wet grass, mud and slippery concrete. Of course, Megagrip will soon use mud cakes, so there will be a little gliding when it’s volatile, but in this case any shoe can be expected. Overall, the traction is great, and generally, this is considered the biggest upgrade Nike has made to the Zegama 2.
The Zegama 2 shows very good build quality and exudes durability. I definitely don’t worry about this being a long-lasting shoe, its chunky features and rugged design took itself hundreds of miles and was hit by the big outdoors.
If you like running feels more neutral, then this may not be your shoes. Usually, the Zegama 2 is great and will get you downplayed when traveling, which I really appreciate.
While there are several overlays on the toes for extra durability, these shoes are not waterproof. If you land yourself in a puddle that is large enough, your feet will be wet. If you do want waterproof trail shoes, you can offer options like Saucony.
In my testing and research, there are few other shortcomings I encountered. They are on the heavier side, so if you want a lighter trail shoe, you might want to see somewhere else. Given how hot the shoes are, people have questions about how they run. Again, as a resident of Scotland, I give it a reward, but it is absolutely true, if you run in a warm climate, be careful.
