Nigeria’s Dangote Refinery Ships Jet Fuel to Saudi Arabia

Africa’s largest Dangote oil refinery has reached a major milestone, which recently exported two jet fuel cargoes to Saudi Aramco, the world’s largest oil company. Since its launch in 2024, the development highlights the rapid growth of refineries. Dangote Group President Aliko Dangote revealed this during a recent visit to the refinery site in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos in the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG). Dangote also announced that refinery output has climbed to 550,000 barrels per day (BPD) and plans to expand its full capacity to 650,000 bpd by mid-2025. This achievement marks a turning point in Nigeria, transforming the country from a net importer to a net exporter of refined petroleum products. NESG Chairman Niyi Yusuf praised Dangote’s bold vision and stressed that domestic investments like refineries are crucial to achieving Nigeria’s $1 trillion economic target.
