Cold VR review: A slightly odd puzzle first-person shooter
Developer Allware is cleverly named from Superhot VR Games Cold VR. Flip the script with the slogan “Move or Die”, the shooter introduces a reverse time mechanic: time slows down when you move and speed up while you are still. although Super Run Use its time-bending capabilities to create strategic, puzzle-like battles, Cold VR Promote faster, aggressive styles that require quick, instant adjustments.

Even the art style is from Super Run By focusing more on simple, low-key visual designs and feature a variety of white, blue, black and pink shades. In the optional interruption horror-inspired level, there is a visual switch called the “Downward Room” which has a dark orange and black color, but we’ll visit later.
Neither hot or cold
Core game loop Cold VR Whether the player defeats a certain number of enemies until a zone is clear. Dodging bullets and attacks is a must Super Run. It took so long that players might find themselves having to start thinking about all of them, some segments take up to 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
The variety of melee weapons and guns make the gameplay exciting and dynamic. Of course, players can wield these weapons to gain a wide variety of combat options. like Super Runa strategy involves something like one hand, and a pistol in the other hand, the gun has a limited number of bullets. Various Katanas, claws, straight swords, and even shield-connected pistols, shotguns, machine guns, assault rifles and sniper rifles. Playing in a flat open arena, with one hand firing at the gun enemy, approaching the grunt with the other hand at the slow motion can sometimes be an euphoric experience.
While you can throw guns and swords at enemies, clumsy physics and clumsy controls make it an unreliable combat option. Apart from frustration, players cannot pick up weapons from defeated enemies. This eliminates Super Runwhere you can throw an empty gun at the enemy, watch them shatter into crystal-like pieces, snatch weapons in the air, and continue the battle seamlessly.
Some of the platform parts of the gameplay add a bit of diversity to the battle, although that doesn’t make the promises that the opening tutorial brings. Similar to doomsome battle scenes have players running on jumping pads in the air and shooting enemies. In addition to learning core mechanics, players must use the time mechanic to slow down the lasers climbing and moving stairs and passing along the line.
Initially, the optional backstage level offers a refreshing breakthrough from the intense battles, which puts players in a maze of handheld wisdom. These creepy corridors are patrolled by black, spiky creatures that kill on contact, while the first layer effectively compensates for tension with a clever flashlight mechanism. But as these levels turn into tedious extraction tasks and button hunting, the suspense quickly fades away. One variant player is looking for three orbs, which can be confusing without the need for a map if you are killed in the middle search. For finishers, the behind-the-scenes level has the potential to delay the pace of the game and add unnecessary frustration rather than being used as a pallette cleaner.
Glitter despite bugs
Fighting is also damaged by bugs that can cause nasty moments. Sometimes, the level may start with the player pointing in the wrong direction, which can lead to instant death. This happens several times at the level at the beginning of the elevator and the enemy has fired in your direction. This occurs in tasks that start with direct face of the player’s enemies. Cold VR There are ammunition counters on the gun, but when the player sees the game causing unnecessary guesses, a mistake makes it inconsistent.
although Cold VRThe gaming experience can be quite inconsistent, with its stories and presentations shining. Players are software that tries to fight the rogue AI led by sinister forces. The mysterious protagonist is helped by a human hacker who appears between the two layers through a large monitor. These live-action FMV (full action video) sequences ride a thin line between providing top camps and meaningful story rhythms. by the time Cold VR End, players will even have a nuanced understanding of the main bad guy’s motivations.
The best bit
In one mission, the player starts sitting on a roof with a sniper rifle, methodically taking the enemy out as they return the hammer between shots. Once the coast is clear, they jump onto the rooftops and unleash a string of doubles fires in epic slow motion to complete the remaining enemies.
The FMV sequence adds a respectable game that blends Cyberpunk art direction and excellent performance. Cold VRThe minimalist art design allows for some beautiful special effects. This includes fantastic particle effects, lighting, shadows and even reflections. All of this has no hint of slowing down during our playback. Adding the experience is a great technical soundtrack that enhances the feeling of fighting in a meaningful way. If there is an area Cold VR Beyond its inspiration, it’s constantly in the presentation department.
Cold VR A unique twist on the time-operated shooter formula, providing a visually striking and fast-paced experience. With 3.5 hours of exercise, it’s a simple and challenging ride that requires quick reflection and strategic thinking. The Mechanic who reverses time – slows down with the flow of time – pushes players toward more aggressive battle scenarios. Gameplay occasionally stumbles on clumsy physics, errors and some frustrating level designs, but Cold VR Excellent in his narrative and speech.
The depth is enhanced by a straight story enhanced by engaging FMV sequences, while its Cyberpunk aesthetic and dynamic Techno soundtrack enhances overall immersion. Despite the flaws, Cold VR Stand out with its cool mechanics and beautiful visuals, which is worth it for VR lovers looking for a new genre. At this price point, it’s a fun but imperfect adventure that is sure to challenge and entertain.

Accessible features
Cold VR Whether you are standing or sitting, there is a smooth gameplay available. Moves are handled using the left controller, while the right controller allows snapshots and smooth turn options. Players can use dedicated sliders to adjust snapshot turns and smooth speed. In addition, a vignette slider can be used to darken the edges of the screen, helping some visually impaired players focus on the center of the image.
How do I comment on cold VR
I’ve reviewed Cold VR exist Game PC use steam The key provided by the developer, Metaquest 3s Link via Steam. The single player took about three hours to complete, but I spent more time exploring it on the game and doing more in-depth testing.
