Here is how to create your own custom routes using Apple Maps on your iPhone.

Make custom routes on Apple maps

1. Open map.
2. Press and hold the place where you want to start the route to drop the pin.
3. Tap More.
4. Tap Create a custom route.

From here, you have to draw the route by tapping on the map. You can click on intersections and landmarks (such as restaurants and shops), and the app will start drawing your route. You can also click on intersections and unmarked locations on the map for a more granular way to create your route.

You also don’t have to click on the location near the last route point. After clicking Create a custom routeyou can click on location a few miles away and the map will create a route for you. It is important to note that if you are at a distance from the open route, the map will find a path that does not involve tearing down on a wall like Kool-Aid Man. In this regard, creating a route is like getting a driving route on a map.

When creating a route, the map will also give you three route options: reverse, backward, and close-range loops. Flip the route backwards, so where you start initially is where the route ends. Outgoing routes map your route on itself, so you can start and end with a path. The closing loop also ends the route you started, but use the circular route.

After creating the route, click save You will be asked to name your route. Then click complete. The map will also download your custom route to your iPhone, so you don’t have to worry about losing reception, especially if you’re hiking in the wilderness.
