Chelsea: Boss Enzo Maresca has ‘no regrets’ about lack of January signings

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca said he was happy with the job in the winter transfer window despite losing forwards Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu.

The two forwards are 2-1 home win at West Ham on Monday But Jackson’s injury was “better” than his Guiu deputy, which was described as “bad” and he could last “weeks or months.”

Jackson’s trip to Brighton for the club in Saturday’s FA Cup fourth round is still doubtful.

Maersca also said he “does not regret” that Chelsea did not sign a attacker in January, with connections with Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho Now it’s Tottenham’s Mathys TEL And Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, who has always been in the bombing of Dortmund.

“I said after West Ham, what we planned is about having players who are leaving and the players we need,” Maresca said.

“In the end, I think we did everything we needed. Before the last game, we had two shooters Nico and Marc.

“Sometimes, we’ve adapted to Cristo (Nkunku) there, too, but if neither of them, we’ll find another solution.”

Chelsea let six players leave in January. Joao Felix, Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi, Renato Veiga, Cesare Casadei and Carney Chukwuemeka are all allowed to leave Midfielder Mathis Amougou, 19, from St Etienne, the only new signing last month.

Meanwhile, winger Mykhailo Mudryk is Temporary suspension Prohibited performance enhancement substances are allegedly employed.

When asked about Felix’s loan moving to AC Milan after joining the club six months in advance, Maresca added: “Together we decided, this It’s a good choice for him to leave.

“To be honest, he never complained. He was professional with us and that was the issue I decided.

“The reason is because I think we need a defensive balance, and when you have so many offensive players, sometimes you can acknowledge the transition and the goal. I don’t like that.”

Maresca also said there will be more time for Christopher Nkunku, who is in contact with January that moved to Manchester United in January.

“Yes, for sure,” he added. “I’ve already talked about Christo last week.

“He’s been playing for more or less an hour and half against West Ham. From now on, he can hopefully get more time and help us.”
