Dricus du Plessis: UFC champion unfazed by Sean Strickland talk
Strickland succeeded in the early rounds at the first meeting at UFC 297 in Toronto and hit a strike more than Du Plessis But South Africa cut Strickland’s eyes for the fourth time.
Strickland ended the match, the battle was played with a judge’s scorecard, and Du Plessis won 48-47, 48-47, 47-48.
The South African studied the video of the conference and revised his strategy as he hoped for a ninth consecutive victory at the UFC.
“There are a lot of familiar things, but obviously we saw the mistakes we made and adjusted them,” he said.
“We saw something better than him, we could do better, and he saw the same thing.
“So we have to fix all the errors because now they know these errors, so they will try to take advantage of this.
“With this battle camp, all we do is everything I do to do so it can be done better, faster, more precise, more accurate.
“I can’t make small mistakes. The profits of mistakes will be smaller, so I need to be perfect on a fight night.”
