John Fleck taken to hospital before Chesterfield v Doncaster

Former Scottish midfielder John Fleck was taken to the hospital and was soon to replace on the bench against Doncaster Rovers in Chesterfield Bench.

The treatment given to the 33-year-old man at SMH Stadium meant the game’s kickoff was delayed by 10 minutes.

“We can confirm that John Fleck was taken to the hospital as a precaution during the pre-match warm-up,” Chesterfield wrote on X.

Michael Jacobs replaced Fleck’s substitute against Doncaster, who was second in the game.

The former Rangers and Sheffield United player left Blackburn Rovers after the end of last season and joined the spike as a free agent in September.

He joined the Wanderers from the blade, but in February’s debut he was injured for 17 minutes in the derby against Preston and needed surgery.
