Corrigan Park: ‘We’ll not play it’ – Antrim panel threaten Ulster SFC boycott if they cannot host Armagh
Antrim has not played Ulster SFC games since 2013 Cavan is held in spring 2022. Later that year, the county’s shooters hosted Cork in the All-Ireland preliminary quarterfinals at Corrigan Park.
McBride, eager to get some excitement in the county, said “not just one game of one game” but the players are united.
“We’ve spoken as players,” he added.
“We said we sacrificed too much to lie down. If it wasn’t local to it, we wouldn’t play.
“This is what we all agree with. It’s not deliberate, it’s not debated, we just say it’s our representative and we stick with it.”
Manager Andy McEntee agreed that if Antrim was forced to play elsewhere, it was a “obvious possibility.”
The former Meath boss added that it was “insignificant” and how many seasons Alma sold.
He said, “Well, as far as we are concerned, there is no problem at all.”
“It doesn’t matter how many season tickets were sold to the opposition. It’s not our problem.
“The draw was held on October 12. Tickets for all seasons were not sold before October 12. So everyone knows we have a family advantage. I can’t see the problem.”
The BBC Sport will contact Ulster GAA for comment.
