Tom McKibbin: ‘I’m not in those majors’ – NI man on LIV Golf switch decision
McKibbin’s acceptance of Liv Golf’s wealth means he joins a disconnect tour with participants including U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka ( Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Cameron Smith and Sergio Garcia.
He became the second player in Northern Ireland, turning to Liv Golf, and 2010 U.S. Open champion Graeme McDowell has become part of the track.
McKebin will compete with Rahm, UK Ryder Cup player Tyrrell Hatton and American Caleb Surratt.
As the LIV event did not bring a world ranking point, McGibbin will definitely fall from his current 109th place as he will not be able to play in the PGA Tour and he has made an appearance on the DP World Tour.
The PGA Tour has held protracted negotiations with LIV supporters, the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), to heal the division of golf in the world.
These negotiations have not yet achieved results and McGibbin may soon be able to reach a resolution that will expand his game choices beyond the disconnected journey.
