Nigeria Sets Oil Production Target of 2.7 Million Barrels per Day by 2027
Olu Verheijen, special energy advisor to Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu, revealed that by 2027, Africa’s largest oil producer plans to increase daily oil production to 2.7 million barrels. Transportation sites will enable Nigeria to achieve this ambitious goal. Verheijen also revealed that most of the increase will include condensate composition, as Nigeria’s OPEC+ quota of 1.5 million barrels per day does not include lighter, more volatile hydrocarbons. She noted that the progress made in increasing production, the country’s daily output rose from 1.1 million barrels in 2022 to 1.67 million bpd as of December 2024.
