Gwent PC in gas man sham asked woman about sex

A Gwent policeman pretended to be a natural gas engineer and had sex with a woman after a year of interviewing her.

Luke Silver, 33, told her he worked at housing provider Pobl and wanted to do a security check.

His defense said police officers wearing “half blues” visited the woman’s home after shifts.

Mr. Silver, from Pembroke, denied four charges of officers corruption or improper exercise of police powers and privileges, as well as three unauthorized access to computer data.

Cardiff Crown Court was told the woman from Torfaen CWMBRAN said she admitted Mr Silver was an officer who dealt with her in July 2021.

She was arrested on suspicion of ordinary assault and drove home after being acquitted.

The woman said she was a victim of domestic violence and suffered from PTSD and autism.

She claimed he asked about her sex life during a car trip and gave her a phone number.

On the journey, he began to talk about sex.

The woman said, “He asked me what sexual positions I like. He told me what position he liked.”

The court was told that he arrived at her house a year later and posed as a gas engineer a year later, and he went in for a security check.

Later, she sent a text message to her phone number, which the court heard, but received no reply.

She did not formally report the conversation in the police car, and she said, “I don’t think I’ll get him again, I’ll brush it off.”

The court heard that she remembered him claiming that he was from Pobl and was scared when he knocked on the door in July 2022.

“He was wearing a completely different uniform,” she said.

The court heard that Mr. Silver asked for use of the toilet before returning to the lounge.

The woman said, “He asked me if I missed sex. He said he missed sex for three years. I said I was glad I was alone.”

The woman told the court that Mr. Silver “brushed” her legs with his hands.

“I trembled my spine,” she said.

She said she remembered thinking that Mr. Silder was a policeman and he was “inappropriate”.

When she left, she said he asked for a hug.

“I’m not a hug,” she told the court she replied.

The jury heard that between March and May 2022, the woman said that Mr. Silver and a co-worker of police came to her home with an outdoor inquiry.

She said she believed he was trying to understand her life and her children.

She contacted the police after the third encounter in July 2022.

The court heard that Mr Silver was upset about the second woman, who filed charges against the abused former partner, so the official had no reason to visit.

She said she met with the former partner of a cocaine addict in February 2022 after reporting him.

He locked her in her home and stole her car, the court heard.

She said Mr Silver called himself a domestic violence official and asked her and her ex-partner if he was sexually active and if he had “any benefit”.

The woman claimed Mr Silver asked if she was “dominated in the bedroom”.

The jury was told he called her “amazing” and revealed that he hadn’t had sex for a long time.

The jury played a video, and she told detective Mr. Silver that she had visited her home several times.

In an interview, she said he asked her about her breast size.

“It’s so scary. I don’t like it, my kid is there. I think, he comes to me.”

The court heard that when Mr. Silver arranged for a statement, she asked a friend to be with her, writing: “The creepy policeman wants to come down again.”

The court heard she had him repeat visit because “I need to let him stand aside and help me.”

The case continues.
