Seychelles: Attorney General’s (AG) Office Highlights Operations During Presidential Visit
President Wawel Ramkalavan, who is also the Minister of Legal Affairs, visited the Office of the Attorney General at Link Building yesterday afternoon and was warmly received by Attorney General Vincent Pereira.
The President toured various departments within the office and learned firsthand about their day-to-day operations. His visit included stops at key departments such as the Prosecutor’s Office, State Legal Counsel, Human Resources and Administration, Notary Section, Information Technology Department, Library and Legal Drafting Section.
President Ramkalavan expressed his gratitude to the team for their excellent work and encouraged employees to fearlessly pursue excellence. “Remember, we are here to seek justice, to seek justice, and justice must be done quickly because justice delayed is justice denied,” he said.
After the tour, the President, along with the Attorney General, held a meeting with all staff. During the meeting, Attorney General Pereira shared statistics on closed and pending cases, stressing that his vision is to “uphold the rule of law so that the guilty cannot escape and the innocent do not suffer”.
Meetings provide a platform for open dialogue, allowing employees to express challenges and propose solutions to achieve goals. The visit underscores the President’s commitment to strengthening the justice system and supporting the Attorney General’s Office in delivering timely and fair administration of justice.
