Afghan women’s cricketers to get support from MCC Global Refugee Fund
Women’s cricket players from Afghanistan will become the first supporters of the Global Refugee C type.
The fund was established by the Marboon Corthopping Club (MCC) and its Charity Foundation, which will raise funds for our future. The plan supports exile Afghanistan women’s cricket players.
Since Taliban returned to power in 2021, the former Afghan women’s national team has been in Australia, because women have been effectively banned because women have participated in the country’s sports.
On Thursday, an Afghan woman XI participated in an exhibition competition in Melbourne, which was a collective competition since they escaped from Australia.
The England and Wales Campaign have donated £ 100,000 to the Global Refugee Foundation.
The fund hopes that the opportunity to provide facilities for refugees, provide education, promote advocacy and establish high -performance and community plans.
In 2020, the Afghan Mascles Commission obtained a professional contract of 25 players, but the Taliban returned. After they could no longer play or train safely, they asked the International Campaign Committee (ICC) to be allowed to become refugee teams. The request was rejected.
ICC has now been invited to participate in a steering group to ensure that MCC is called “continuous and structured method.”
