The Conflict in DR Congo Explained

The Eastern Region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo has been involved in the conflict for more than 30 years, and more than 100 armed groups are competing for territory in rich mineral areas. In recent years, one of the armed groups are M23. The rebels have now developed into a key trading center GOMA near Rwanda. M23 is a leader group, claiming to defend a minority right. However, it was charged with the crime of war. Despite the denial of Rwanda, the United Nations report shows that the country provides support for the rebels, which is a doctor, the United States, and France responded by the Congo. At the same time, the United Nations has been working hard to control violence. The Congo government insists that its troops still control key areas, but as the hospital is full and the corpses are on the street, the humanitarian crisis is vaguely visible.
