Cross-code ‘745 Game’ could be annual MND fund-raising event – Gale
Former England League internationals Danny Cipriani, Billy Twelvetrees and Tom Youngs are all taking part, as well as league players Keith Senior, Adrian Morley and Danny McGuire this game.
It will include unlimited tackles in one’s own half, but six tackles after half-time, uncontested scrums and lineouts, with five points awarded for a try and two points each for a conversion and a lost ball.
Gayle, who retires at the end of the 2024 season after helping Wakefield win the title, is looking forward to the challenge.
“I’m coaching at Wakefield Academy now, so I might take a course with them later on to improve my skills,” the 36-year-old said.
“I’m a big fan of Cipriani. I think he could be a gunner in rugby league because he has a rare skill set. I’m excited to play against him.”
He added: “It’s about winning at all costs. It’s going to be nice and crazy but once we play the game, it could be chess or wink, winning is the name of the game.”
