Twenty -young men and women joined the team of Lipuri in the United States Period Assistant to participate in a lecturer to promote the ceasefire agreement and its comprehensive implementation, including the withdrawal of the mercenary and foreign combatants. They expressed concern on the spread of weapons and their influence on the community.

Under the auspices of Muhammad Nalal, deputy head of the special group ceasefire monitoring department, the participants listened to the work introduction of the 5+5 United Military Commission (JMC), and the committee did Efforts and foreign militants in Libya. Participants emphasized that mercenaries, foreign combatants and foreign troops were repatriated to their own country.

Participants focused on discussing the main challenges related to peace -related construction in the construction of a fire suspension agreement, as well as measures that should be taken to solve the problems of mercenaries and foreign combatants.

Other young people emphasized that they believed that the United States Aid Group strongly supported and promoted negotiations to resolve the CBL crisis in September, and had to make similar efforts in political tracks and elections.

The participants also heard the introduction of the political process promoted by the United Nations. The process announced in December that it aims to support the Libya interests to find a feasible path to achieve a tolerance and transparent national election. A consulting committee consisting of a highly respected independent Libyan law and political experts is to determine a solution to the solution to the disputed issues in the current election law, rather than to establish a new government. In addition, a structured dialogue will be established to allow the voices of young people, women and other communities to consider long -term problems. As part of the political process, the special group will also carry out economic reform and national reconciliation work in parallel with national and regional partners.

“End of violence will save lives,” said a male participant, and added, “We need to rebuild and unify national institutions. Violence is a threat to national security, human rights and citizenship. Young people can play a constructive role in New Libya. ”

14 women and 11 male participants work in groups to determine the suggestions that the United States support group needs to be promoted:

  • The existence of mercenaries and foreign combatants violated Libya’s sovereignty. Therefore, the relevant efforts of relevant Libyan authorities, including the 5+5 United Military Commission, should be strengthened to ensure that they withdraw their troops and build the ability of national institutions to stop fire monitoring and clear these molecules and troops.

  • Young people should formulate social cohesion initiatives in the community to improve their understanding of challenges and help cultivate a new generation of leaders.

  • Young people in Libya often join the armed forces for economic reasons. More employment opportunities need to be found to help them develop other sources of income and re -integrate them into state institutions.

  • Strengthen social media propaganda and dialogue, and the education community understands the negative impact of mercenaries and foreign combatants or joining armed groups on social peace in the country.

  • Fake news is a serious problem. Social media platforms should take more measures to prevent hatred. Young people should have better ability to report and emphasize it when it happens. The necessary law should be formulated to fight this phenomenon.

  • Formulate an inclusive mechanism to ensure that the voice of women, youth and civilian social organizations listen.

  • More useful use of technology to contact young people more effectively, developing platforms to exchange opinions and dialogues, and discuss the impact of hatred remarks.

The seminar is part of the series of activities organized by the United States support group based on Youngage initiative, and aims to allow 1,000 young men and women throughout Libya to participate in different themes. The goal is to collect their ideas and suggestions, provide information for the United States supporting group for young people to provide information, promote tolerance, and expand the voice of those who have been excluded from outside. So far, the United States Aid Team has met with more than 600 young people from all over Libya.

It is distributed by the APO Group on behalf of the United Nations Libya Aid Group (UNISIDS Aid).
