Medical King Recalls Portable Bed Rails, With One Death Reported. Here’s What to Know
Medical KingA manufacturer of health care equipment and supplies has recalled approximately 222,000 adult assistive bed rails.
When rails are attached to the bed, users may become trapped within the bed rails or between the rails and the sides of the mattress, posing a serious risk of entrapment or even death from suffocation. In November 2023, a residential care facility in South Carolina reported one death due to the problem.
announced on thursday U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commissionthis recall applies to the following Medical King products:
- Height-adjustable bed assist rails (models 7007 and 7057)
- Legless bed auxiliary rail (model 7037)
The recalled models were sold online between January 2020 and March 2024 at Amazon, Walmart, Target Plus, eBay, Kohls, and directly from Medical King. The price is about $40.

Once you submit your recall registration, you will receive a confirmation email and your repair kit should be shipped within one to two business days.
