Cannabis Industry Could Add $1 Billion to Ghana’s Economy

Mark Darko, CEO of the Ghana Cannabis Industry Chamber, has announced an ambitious plan to generate $1 billion per year from the country’s nascent cannabis industry. Darko made the revelation while speaking at the opening of a cannabis training center in Accra, where farmers will be trained and trained on handling the crop. In his speech, Darko highlighted the industry’s potential to revitalize Ghana’s economy, noting that one hectare of cannabis could potentially generate at least $10,000 in revenue. The global cannabis market is estimated to reach $21 billion by 2025, providing Ghana with lucrative opportunities, especially following the adoption of the Narcotics Control Board Act, which allows cannabis cultivation for industrial use. With the assistance of Sky Bridge Pharmaceuticals, the training center will provide farmers with sustainable farming techniques to ensure cannabis cultivation in line with global standards.
