Luke Williams: Swansea City boss aims to stop ‘suffering’ since Premier League relegation
Luke Williams says Swansea City must find a “clever way” to end the “misery” the club has endured since being relegated from the Premier League in 2018.
Swansea are in the midst of their seventh consecutive Championship season and, with the way things are going, are destined to finish somewhere in the mid-table.
After bowing out of top flight, the Swans twice reached the playoffs while receiving parachute payments.
But the last three seasons have seen results of 15, 10 and 14 respectively, and Swansea’s current crop of 15 have taken 1 point from four league games so far this month.
Williams insisted he was lifting the table rather than falling despite his team’s current struggles – saying he would not be “offended” by Swansea’s attempts to turn their form around.
The head coach said: “We’re suffering in this short run at the moment but we’re suffering as a club in the longer term – that’s obvious.”
