We Get It Samsung, the Galaxy S25 Line Is Full of AI. How Do I Turn It Off?

If you’ve seen it you’ll be forgiven Samsung unpacking 2025 Wednesday event and thought it was a talk about artificial intelligence. Within the first 10 minutes of the talk, the word “AI” was mentioned at least a dozen times, and that number grew exponentially as the talk continued. The company said the new Galaxy S25 phone cord There will be plenty of AI features, but all I can think about is “How do I get rid of them?”

“We built the artificial intelligence (operating system) from the ground up,” TM Roh, president of Samsung’s mobile business, said during the event. “One UI 7 is our most personal interface yet and it redefines mobile interactions because we build it deeply at the system level. Integrated artificial intelligence agent.”

But I don’t want artificial intelligence on my phone. I don’t think it’s helpful or useful in any way, and I’m not alone.

one CNET Investigates The study found that only 14% of Apple and Samsung smartphone users found these features helpful. When these tools tell people to use glue for pizza Or suggest you eat at least a small stone every day and you’ll understand why they find it uncomfortable.

This kind of false and misleading misinformation is called hallucination, and it’s a known problem with artificial intelligence. About two years ago, Google Gemini —called Bud at the time— Wrong NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has captured the first images of an exoplanet outside our solar system. (In fact, this was taken more than a decade before the launch of the James Webb Space Telescope.)

“As we’ve said from the beginning, hallucinations are a well-known challenge for all LL.M.s,” Google said in a statement about JWST. “In some cases, AI will make mistakes.”

Not to mention god forsaken images These AI tools can make. These tools can create meaningless, incoherent, and sometimes scary images. These images are similar to what you would see in a fever dream or in a dream HR Giger Nightmare.

When Samsung said in an Unpacked presentation that the Galaxy S25 series of phones will feature Extend battery lifeI thought, “It needs all these AI capabilities.”

In addition to privacy and Copyright issuesI don’t use AI on my phone or devices because it always makes me do more work. If I ask my digital assistant to set an alarm, I check to make sure the alarm is at the correct time. If I use Assistant to send a message to someone, I read the message before sending it in case I need to edit it.

As for the image creation features, these are novelties that I might use once as a party trick, but then never again – including Apple’s Genmon Temple. I’ve used AI image creation tools a few times at work, but other than that I can confidently say I’ve never used them.

See, all I’m asking for is a switch to turn these features off. It’s not difficult and I’m sure others have asked on online message boards how to turn these features off. Apple has already implemented a switch to turn off the Apple Intelligence feature on its iPhones, so we know it can be done. If there was no way to turn these features off, I would seriously consider buying a new Galaxy phone.
