Search for suspect after ‘serious assault’ in Plymouth
Plymouth Police say they are searching for a suspect after a “serious assault” in the city’s Seahoe area.
Devon and Cornwall Police said they were called at 20:55 GMT on Wednesday night after a person was found seriously injured on West Hoe Road. They were treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Derriford Hospital.
Police added that the victim and attacker were believed to know each other.
Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
SWAT Inspector Dave Pebworth said there was a heavy police presence in the area and the investigation was continuing as police searched for the suspect.
“We believe this is an isolated incident and does not pose an immediate threat to the public at large,” Pebworth said in a statement.
He added: “We are asking the public to stay away from the city’s West Hoe area while we continue to investigate.”
