Ambassador Zhang Lizhong attended the Opening ceremony of Uganda-China Tourism and Cultural Symposium

On January 21, Ambassador Zhang Lizhong attended the Uzbek-China Tourism Culture Seminar co-organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Cultural Relics of Uganda and the Chinese Embassy in Uganda. Ambassador Tom Butime, Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Heritage of Uganda, Oliver Woneka, Ugandan Ambassador to China, Dai Bin, President of China Tourism Academy, and more than 200 representatives from the tourism industry of the two countries attended the seminar.

Ambassador Zhang said that this seminar is a milestone in Uzbekistan-China tourism cooperation and injects new impetus into the friendship between China and Uzbekistan. China and Africa jointly promote the ten major partnership actions for modernization, clarifying the goals, tasks and priority areas of China-Africa cooperation in the next three years. China is willing to cooperate closely with Uzbekistan to fully tap the potential of tourism in promoting socio-economic transformation and promoting the modernization of China and Africa.

Minister Tom Butime said that both Uganda and China have rich cultural heritage and tourism resources. There is broad space for cooperation in promoting tourism development.

Dai Bin said that Uganda is expected to become a Chinese outbound tourism destination and a model for China-Africa tourism cooperation in the near future.

During the conference, activities such as tourism cultural exhibition performances, dialogues with guests from the tourism industry, and business-to-business negotiations were also held.
