1. Netflix shares soar on strong earnings growth and subscriber additions

Netflix (NFLX) shares surged 14% in premarket trading after the streaming giant released its fourth-quarter earnings report beat analysts’ expectations and raised its revenue forecast for 2025. Netflix reported a profit of $1.87 billion, or $4.27 per share, with revenue up 16% year over year to $10.25 billion. Netflix also reported adding about 19 million new subscribers during the quarter, announced an increase of $15 billion to its stock buyback program, and said it was raising subscription prices in the United States, Canada, Portugal and Argentina.

5. United Airlines stock price rises after fourth-quarter results announced, outlook optimistic

United Airlines (University of London College of Art) Shares rose 4% in pre-market trading after Success Carrier Beat analysts’ fourth-quarter expectations and gave an optimistic outlook for the current quarter. United Airlines reported an adjusted profit of $3.26 per share, with revenue rising nearly 8% year-on-year to $14.7 billion, mainly due to a 10% increase in premium income. Analysts polled by Visible Alpha expected $3.06 and $14.39 billion respectively. Manchester United expected to adjust Earnings per share (EPS) Prices for the first quarter of fiscal 2025 range from $0.75 to $1.25, with the midpoint well above the visible alpha consensus of $0.85.
