This has trained parents to seek out new content at home, even after theaters closed and movies returned to theaters.
“Inside Out 2” not only marked a comeback for Disney, but also helped drive overall domestic box office growth in June. It grossed over $650 million domestically, becoming the first Warner Brothers’ “Barbie” arrives first billion dollars at the global box office.
It also marks the first time since 2019 that a Pixar or Walt Disney animated film has grossed more than $480 million at the global box office. “Inside Out 2” ended up becoming the highest-grossing movie of 2024.
