Voluntary Blood Donation in the Central Region – Africa.com
Members of the Central Region Taxi Owners Association, Ze Construction Company Central Office and National Security Agency Office collectively donated 173 units of blood on January 16 and 17 to enrich the blood supply of the National Blood Transfusion Service.
According to the report, members of the Taxi Owners Association donated 54 units of blood, members of Ze Construction Company donated 88 units, and members of the National Security Agency donated 31 units.
Mr. Mengisteab Abay and Mr. Yitbarek Haile, Chairman of the Taxi Owners Association, said this was the 12th blood donation by its members, making it an annual event alongside their daily activities. The coordinator of Ze Construction Company said that this is their third voluntary blood donation activity.
Mr Gebreyohannes Gebreteansae, Voluntary Blood Donation Coordinator of the National Blood Transfusion Service, commended the Central Region donors for their noble initiative and encouraged others to follow their example.
The National Blood Transfusion Service reports that in 2024, voluntary blood donors donated more than 16,000 units of blood.
