Mia Brookes: British teenager wins World Cup slopestyle in Laax
Brooks’ victory came after finishing second behind Murase at the slopestyle season-opening event in Cardrona, New Zealand, in September.
The British teenager also excelled in the big air events, topping the overall World Cup women’s snowboarding ‘Park and Pipe’ standings.
She has been on the podium in each of the competition’s first four rounds, including back-to-back wins, and is tied for the top aerial points list with Japan’s Mari Fukada with 305 points. Beijing and Klagenfurt.
The American resort town of Aspen will host the finals of the World Cup’s major aerial event and the next round of slopestyle competition from January 30 to February 6.
