Morocco, Liberia Reaffirm Commitment to Further Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation – Africa.com
Morocco and Liberia reaffirmed in Laayoune on Friday their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation and making the Morocco-Liberia partnership an exceptional example of inter-African cooperation.
In a joint statement issued after a bilateral meeting between Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and the Moroccan Diaspora Nasser Bourita and Liberian Foreign Minister Sara Besolo Nyanti, the two sides also praised the two countries’ strong brotherhood and unite their country. They reaffirmed their joint determination to make the Morocco-Liberia partnership a model of inter-African cooperation based on the principles of solidarity and mutual support.
In this context, the two foreign ministers reviewed the fruitful cooperation between the two countries in various fields of mutual interest and expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved in various fields. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to explore new avenues of cooperation in priority areas such as investment, industry, trade, fisheries, renewable energy, health, water, education, infrastructure, women’s rights, and mining.
Recognizing the huge economic potential of both countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Britta and Nyanti agreed to intensify efforts to develop and diversify trade exchanges, establish mutually beneficial economic partnerships, and increase bilateral trade. They invited the business communities of both countries to seize the opportunities offered by Morocco and Liberia.
In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Britta reiterated Morocco’s readiness to contribute to the implementation of Liberia’s National Development Plan, which aims to provide basic social services and promote the country’s social and economic development.
At the end of this joint cooperation committee, the two sides signed a number of legal instruments in the fields of industry, trade cooperation, mining exploration and research, justice and rule of law, integrated water resources management, social development, handicrafts and social solidarity. Economy, tourism, youth, healthcare professional training, education, vocational training as well as providing scholarships, internships and sharing of expertise.
