Murphy makes 147 maximum break in Masters semi-final against Allen
Shaun Murphy shot just the sixth 147 in Masters history in his semi-final against Mark Allen at Alexandra Palace.
The Englishman is only the fifth player to achieve perfect snooker since the event was first held in 1975 – clearing all 15 red balls with 15 black balls, followed by all colours.
Kirk Stevens recorded the first record at the old Wembley Conference Center in 1984, with Ding Junhui (twice), Marco Fu and Mark Allen also achieving accomplished this feat.
Murphy performed well in the sixth game against Northern Ireland player Allen, helping him lead 4-2 in the best-of-11 set match.
